Fishing Experience since 1975
Meet the Snyder's - Myself (Wylie) and my dad Trent have been fishing the Voyageur Nationalpark Lakes including Rainy River for over 20 years. Our experience comes from no other than our dad and grandpa Jerry Snyder. Jerry used to own Idlewild Resort on Lake Kabetogama for over 20 years. Growing up on the Lake and within the resort, we have not only discovered every corner of the lake but also appreciate the beauty of the Nationalpark and its fishing. From golden shiny walleyes, jumbo perch, smallmouth bass, northern pike and sturgeons, we know how to catch your memories on those beautiful lakes.
Growing up on the shores of beautiful Lake Kabetogama, I started guiding when I was 12 years old with my grandfather Jerry Snyder. As his first mate, to others known as "Gilligan" I was able to bait all the hooks and net the fish.

When I turned 16, I started working as the harbor technician for Idlewild Resort, staying as close to the lake as I could to be able to run out fishing every night. At age 18 I got my USCG Captains license and started guiding on my own part time for 3 years and went full time ever since.
I have had some fantastic mentors over the years teaching me a lot about fishing, from techniques to multi species and I can't thank them enough.

Walleye Wylie
I come from a family of fishermen, my father was a guide. Both of my brothers are guides and Wylie my son as well. Kabetogama and the Voyageur National Park has been our home since 1975. There are not too many spots, we don't know about.
With four of us guiding, we constantly feed off each other to make sure we are on the fish. It's like "Hiring 4 guides for the price of one", we like to say.

The greatest joy, I have is fishing along side with my son, Wylie.

Come to Lake Kabetogama and book a fishing trip with us and catch a few memories.
